TRIXTER Berlin is currently looking for a VFX Editor to join our team as soon as possible.

First of all: What does a VFX Editor do?

The VFX Editor incorporates and updates all required versions of visual effects shots into the current cuts of the VFX / live action sequences. The VFX Editor also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Visual Effects Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction. This position works closely with producers to manage all incoming media and outgoing deliverables. The work of a VFX Editor is more technical rather than creative.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Ingesting plates and take care of color pipeline
  • Document all changes in the edits
  • Managing reference materials and all shots of a show
  • Publishing cuts to the internal pipeline
  • Assisting Coordinators with turnover and client delivery
    Updating the Database (Ftrack) and the Sequences (in Hiero)
    Problem solving



  • +2years experience working in a Film/TV/Commercials Editorial Department or Cutting room
  • Basic understanding of Mac, Windows and Linux
  • An understanding of the VFX process and terminology
  • An understanding of Film and HD video formats, frame rates and resolutions
  • Encoding/Transcoding and have a base understanding of video codecs and file formats
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Good English language skills
  • EU citizenship or an existing German work permit


A Plus would be:

  • Edit proficiently using Hiero
  • Knowledge of Ftrack
  • Knowledge of editing with AVID, Final Cut and/or Adobe Premiere
  • An understanding of DaVinci Resolve
  • Basic Photoshop and After Effects skills

TRIXTER is currently looking for an experienced VFX Production Manager to join our production department in Berlin. The Production Manager role carries internal projects responsibilities to the studio. Partner with the artistic supervisors to create and manage macro and micro department schedules, and ensure timely and proper workflow though the department.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Oversee production project scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and salaries administration.
  • Build strong team relationships with supervisors, directors, and project producers.
  • Setting appropriate priorities, task tracking, and problem solving.
  • Mentor and motivate associate production staff.
  • Create weekly and special reports for senior management, and other department activities.



  • 3 years’ experience as a department management in the film or animation industry.
  • Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the VFX pipeline and workflow.
  • Experience creating and managing macro and micro production schedules.
  • Outstanding communications, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to think outside the box and be flexible in an ever-changing production environment.
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Positive solution-oriented attitude.
  • PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

TRIXTER Munich & Berlin are currently looking to hire experienced Senior Houdini FX TDs to start as soon as possible.

Location: Munich or Berlin, Germany
Type of contract: Freelancer, short-term



  • Working closely with VFX Supervisors to creatively solve effects challenges and develop final shot look
  • Deliver all elements in a structured way that allows efficient integration into the pipeline.
  • Working with other TD’s and artists to create photo-real effects and physically accurate simulations
  • Working with production management to prioritize tasks.
  • Creatively solve problems and achieve art direction for a shot.
  • Anticipate, communicate and troubleshoot any creative and/or technical problems



  • Minimum 4+ years experience in the feature movie and/or television industry.
  • Expert working knowledge of Houdini Software.
  • Experience with rigid body and particle dynamics, volume modelling and rendering, procedural geometry generation and fluid dynamics
  • Proficient knowledge of FX techniques and workflows.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems.
  • Familiarity with one or more coding /scripting languages (Python/Mel/etc)
  • Good knowledge of NUKE and/or other compositing package.
  • Good communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • English language skills
